We have some exciting news to share with you – VectorZero is now part of MathWorks, maker of MATLAB and Simulink, and a leading developer of tools used for designing, simulating and testing autonomous driving systems.

When we started VectorZero in 2017, we wanted to build a software company focused on roads. We saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the market by enabling customers to rapidly create and edit precise roads and environments used for autonomous driving simulation.  We also wanted to make it really easy to export roads to industry-standard formats and simulation engines.

After a couple of years, we saw that the market for autonomous driving was moving faster and faster. We realized that we would need to join a larger platform to help us stay ahead and deliver new capabilities and enhancements faster.  When we met the team from MathWorks, we realized we had found the right home for VectorZero.  MathWorks is a global company that has been delivering tools used by engineers for over 35 years, and they are also a leading provider of tools for autonomous driving.

The VectorZero team has joined MathWorks and we have been working to deliver our next release of RoadRunner, which includes many of your most frequently requested enhancements.  We’re going to be able to go farther, faster, now that we can leverage a global development platform and we look forward to expanding our product offerings in the future.  Also, while we plan to add compatibility with MATLAB and Simulink, we will remain compatible with commercial and open-source simulators. This is an important differentiator for us, and we recognize how important this is for you.

You will shortly receive an email from MathWorks describing how to transition your licenses and get a new updated version of RoadRunner.

Thank you for your early trust and support of VectorZero.  We are excited to share this news with you and look forward to continuing to work together!
